CentOS7でMATEを使う

MATEはGNOME2の派生。

Epelのインストール

sudo yum install epel-release

MATEのインストール

sudo yum groupinstall "MATE Desktop"

MATEの設定

 ~/.config/dconf/user ファイル

MATEやGNOMEの設定は ~/.config/dconf/user に全て保存されている。
設定を失敗した時のために、このファイルをバックアップしておくと良い。

編集

dconf-editor

で編集できる。
値の追加を行う場合は、dconfコマンドを使う。
基本的に値の削除はできない。その場合は

dconf dump

でテキストファイルに設定値を書きだして編集し、~/.config/dconf/user を削除した上で

dconf load

で設定値をロードする。

 topパネルとbottomパネルの設定

アニメーションに関する設定

自動的に隠す場合の反応速度を0にして、アニメーション効果を無くす。

1. dconf-editor を起動する
   1. org -> mate -> caja -> desktop を開く
   2. xxxxx-icon-visible を変更することでデスクトップのアイコンを非表示できる

4. フォントを大きくするか詳細を選択して、解像度を変更する
5. 解像度のデフォルト値は96

 他のワークスペースのウインドウに切り替えるショートカット

ショートカットの設定で設定できないショートカットを設定するには

dconf-editor

で

org.mate.Marco.global-keybindings

以下の設定を変更する。
例えば、他のワークスペースのウインドウに切り替えるショートカットは

switch-windows-all

の設定を変更する。

 キーボードのキーの入替えなどの設定をする

キーボード設定のレイアウトからオプションを選択するとcapsの入替えなどキーの設定を変更できる

注意

shift + comma

を含むショートカットを設定すると「<」が不正文字として扱われてしまい正常にショートカットが動作しない。
対策として、autokeyやxbindkeysでショートカットを受け取ってやりたい動作実行する

例

Mod4 + Shift + comma

でアクティブウインドウを仮想デスクトップ8へ移動する

xbindkeyを使う場合

vim ~/.xbindkeysrc

"xdotool set_desktop_for_window $(xdotool getactivewindow) 7"
  Shift + Mod4 + comma

autokeyを使う場合

system.exec_command('xdotool set_desktop_for_window $(xdotool getactivewindow) 7',getOutput=False)

 ファイルマネージャの設定

1. サイドペイン
   1. ツリー表示
2. 編集 -> 設定
   1. 新しいフォルダの表示形式
      1. 一覧表示

 スクリーンショット

標準はWindowsと同じ。

キー	実行されているコマンド	スクリーンショットの範囲
printキー	mate-screenshot	画面全体
Alt + printキー	mate-screenshot --window	アクティブなウインドウ

範囲指定でスクリーンショットを撮る

mate-screenshot --area

を実行することで範囲指定でスクリーンショットを撮れる。
ショートカットを指定する場合は、
dconf-editor

org/mate/Marco/keybinding-commands/command-screenshot/mate-window-screenshot

のコマンドを

mate-screenshot --area

にするか、新しいショートカットを追加して、コマンドに以下を指定する。

bash -c "sleep 0.1 && mate-screenshot --area"

 ロック画面の壁紙を変更する

そのままでもいいけど、ロック画面の壁紙を変更したい場合は、以下の手順で変更できる

vim /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/10_mate-rhel.gschema.override

[org.mate.background]のpicture-filenameを変更する

# picture-filename='/usr/share/backgrounds/default.xml'
picture-filename='hoge.jpg'

Settings スキーマファイルをコンパイル

glib-compile-schemas /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/

ログオフしてログインし直せば、ロック画面が変わっているはず。

注意点

 mozc(ibus)が使えない場合

CentOS 7.4では問題なかったが、CentOS 7.8のMATE Desktopでibus-daemonが自動起動しなくなっていた。
GNOMEデスクトップでは自動起動しているので、MATE Desktopの問題と思われる。

対策1

自動起動するアプリ設定の入力メソッドスターターが以下のようになっている

imsettings-switch -n -q -x

xinputrc を探してその中で入力メソッドを確定しようとするが、ibus利用の判定とならないため、ibusが起動できない。

imsettings-switch -n -q ibus

に修正し、.bashrcに以下を追加すると ibusを起動できるようになる。

export GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus
export XMODIFIERS=@im=ibus
export QT_IM_MODULE=ibus

対策2

自動起動するアプリに

ibus-daemon -d -x

を登録し、~/.bashrcか/etc/environmentに

export GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus
export XMODIFIERS=@im=ibus
export QT_IM_MODULE=ibus

を追加すれば、ibusが使えるようになる。自動起動されるようになるまでこれで暫定対応する
